Both the original GhostBed and the GhostBed 3D Matrix® are built in the USA and are backed with our 20- to 25-year warranty. Choosing between the original GhostBed mattress will come down to the level of support and coolness you prefer.

The original 11" GhostBed is our most affordable mattress, built using research and feedback from tens of thousands of past customers. This mattress features a unique, aerated top layer of latex for better bounce and breathability, 2" pressure-relieving cool gel memory foam and a high-density, durable support core. Offering a blend of support and comfort with a medium-firm feel, this mattress works well for all sleeping styles, including side, back and stomach sleepers.

With our Spirited Edge™ support design, you won’t have to worry about the all-too-common issue of a mattress with sagging sides. Two rows of specially reinforced coils along the edge of the bed provide a stable perimeter, allowing you to maximize the surface area of the bed and spread out each night. When awake, the advanced edge support makes it easy to sit comfortably without slipping off, or ease slowly out of bed.

On a scale of Plush (1) to Firm (10), the GhostBed 3D Matrix® is more of a Plush mattress with a 4.0 – 5.0 feel. The 3D Matrix layer combined with the gel-infused memory foam and soft transition foam contours and cradles your body, while still providing the support you need for great spinal alignment.

Once you open your GhostBed mattress from the sealed vacuum-compressed packaging, it may take a few hours to a full day for it to fully expand, breathe and adjust to your room’s temperature. You can sleep on it almost immediately.

In the colder winter months, your GhostBed may take up to 5 days to fully decompress. If it sat on a cold truck or in a cold warehouse, the temperature-sensitive materials will need plenty of time to take their natural form.

Remember, a new mattress is a big change for your body, so it may take a night or two to get used to it. With our 101-night sleep trial, you’ll get more than 3 months to try it out!

Yes! Ideally, you’ll want to shop for a mattress that’s a bit softer (or "plush"), so it conforms to your body—but with a good amount of support, also, to keep your back and spine aligned. A hybrid like the GhostBed 3D Matrix® is the best of these two worlds, featuring contouring gel memory foam and support from the pocketed coils.

Tired of waking up every time your partner moves an inch? We don’t blame you! If you’re shopping for a mattress with minimal motion transfer, the GhostBed 3D Matrix® is a great option. While traditional innerspring mattresses are known for creaking and sinking with every movement, our "pocketed" coils are individually wrapped; since they each can move independently, it’s less likely that you’ll feel what’s happening on the other side of the bed!

Finding the perfect mattress can be tough when your partner sleeps differently or has different preferences! We recommend going for a hybrid mattress, with a blend of memory foam and pocketed coils. That way, you’ll get the best of both worlds: the foam responds well to each individual’s weight differences and sleeping positions, while the coils offer less motion transfer throughout the night.

If you have shoulder or hip pain, we recommend shopping for a mattress that’s on the softer side (also referred to as "plush"). A medium-plush or plush mattress, like the GhostBed 3D Matrix®, features gel memory foam that contours to your body, instead of pressing against it. And with a high-density base layer as the foundation of the mattress, you still get ideal support and durability.

Keep in mind, however, that your sleeping position can affect your comfort as well.

Positioned in between layers of contouring and super-soft foam, the gel polymer layer absorbs excess body heat, and its unique shape helps drive that heat away from your body instead of leaving it trapped within the mattress.

Forget the old-school innerspring mattresses with one large, squeaky coil and a caved-in shape. The 3D Matrix is the most advanced support and sleep comfort technology. It features our patented coil unit: individually wrapped, 6” coils that intuitively (and noiselessly) respond to weight shifts, reducing motion transfer so you and your partner can move without disturbing each other throughout the night. Air flows easily through the coils, adding to the cooling effect driven by the patented gel polymer layer.

The 3D Matrix® mattress is a hybrid, so it also includes foam comfort layers on top of the coils. The result is the best of both worlds: The coils provide a long-lasting bouncy feel that doesn’t sag, while the foam comfort layers contour to your body and help relieve pressure and joint pain.
