In a hurry? Here's a quick overview of how GhostBed and Lull stack up:

Consumers searching for highly rated mattresses made in Canada & USA with a range of firmness options will love GhostBed.

GhostBed mattresses are made with a high-quality, dense foam foundation.

Materials and Quality

Pro tip: If you want to know the quality of a product, look at who makes it!

The founder of GhostBed, Marc Werner, grew up in a family with a 100+ year history of manufacturing in the United States and Canada. Marc's grandfather founded the Werner Ladder company—best known for inventing the aluminum and fiberglass ladder.

Needless to say, you can't mess around with the quality of a ladder (unless you want folks falling off of it). So Marc learned from an early age that building products with top-tier materials and attention to detail is essential.

He spent years working alongside factory workers and experimenting with polymers before starting his own mattress line in 2001.

Meanwhile, Lull was founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs who majored in Business Economics.

Materials

The base layer of your mattress is like the foundation of your house, so it has to be high quality. At GhostBed, we use high-density foam as the base layer for all of our mattresses, leading to less compression.

We top the base foam with additional layers—like springs, gel memory foam or latex, depending on the model you choose—so you get that perfect balance of support and comfort. Customers report they “don't want to get out of bed in the morning because [their mattress] is so comfortable.”

We also use cooling technology in every mattress, including proprietary materials in our Luxury and Premium collections. The signature Ghost Ice cover, for example, is designed with a phase-change material that absorbs heat upon contact.

We are so confident in the materials we use that we offer one of the best warranties in the business. (More on that soon.)

Lull mattresses are built with gel-infused memory foam, a foam-blend transition layer and a polyurethane foam foundation. Their Premium and Luxe models include cooling comfort layers and pocket coils.

Reviews on Lull's construction are mixed, with some customers reporting that their mattresses are “definitely not for side sleepers” and “feel like [they were] made cheap.”

Cost

While GhostBed mattresses require a higher initial investment than Lull's mattresses, the truth is you get what you pay for!

One reviewer who purchased a Lull mattress for its low initial cost commented that they “haven't had a good night's sleep since [they] bought it.”

GhostBed's mattresses, while slightly higher in upfront cost, reflect decades of craftsmanship and manufacturing entirely in the United States and Canada. Plus, our lightning-fast shipping means you'll be enjoying your investment sooner.

For a mattress you'll spend an average of eight or more years with, we think it's worth the money. (Especially since we're always running awesome sales!)

Trial Period and Warranty

The best way to know if a mattress is right for you is to sleep on it. Thankfully, GhostBed and Lull both offer generous trial periods.

GhostBed gives you 101 days to see if a mattress is the right fit for you, while Lull gives you 365 days.

At GhostBed, we're confident you'll need far fewer than 101 days to love your mattress because we help you find the right one from the start. Our certified sleep experts are ready to work with you one-on-one to help you find the perfect bed for you. You can book a consultation with an expert right now.

Or you can contact us via email, phone or chat—we're standing by to help you find your perfect bed.

Warranty

GhostBed and Lull both offer generous warranties.

The GhostBed Classic is warrantied for 20 years, while all other GhostBed mattresses are warrantied for 25 years.

Lull has a lifetime warranty for its mattresses, but (as many unhappy customers discovered), it's important to read the fine print.

While a Lull mattress must have a visible indentation of 1.5" or more, the GhostBed warranty only requires an indentation of 1". (When it comes to memory foam—trust us—that's a big difference!)

Comfort

When it comes to comfort, we'll let the numbers speak for themselves. Lull customers give their mattress purchases an average rating of 4.6, while GhostBed customers rate their mattresses a 4.8.

One thing that makes GhostBed mattresses so comfortable? You can choose a firmness level that works for you. Whether you prefer something plush, medium-firm, or somewhere in between, you have options.

Meanwhile, Lull only offers its mattresses in the medium-firm range—meaning there are no great choices for side sleepers or lightweight folks who need a softer mattress.

What else makes GhostBed the preferred choice? Mattress Nerd compared the GhostBed Classic to the Original Lull Mattress and found that GhostBed is better than Lull for people who sleep hot; toss and turn at night or sleep on their backs.
